Windsor Chess Club – School & Library Donations

Building Community Through Chess

Our Mission

Windsor Chess Club is committed to growing chess in Windsor–Essex by supporting schools and public libraries with equipment and volunteer programs.

We believe every child should have access to chess — regardless of financial background. By donating chess sets and clocks, we help create sustainable chess programs that encourage:

  • Critical thinking
  • Focus and discipline
  • Confidence and resilience
  • Intergenerational connection
  • Community engagement

♟️ What We Donate

We provide:

  • ✔️ Tournament-size chess sets
  • ✔️ Student-desk friendly boards (right size for classroom desks)
  • ✔️ Digital chess clocks
  • ✔️ Support for starting school chess clubs
  • ✔️ Volunteer-led chess sessions
  • ✔️ Tournament opportunities for students

WCC will setup a desk for the schools and teachers to sign up the program during Windsor Chess Challenge on March 3&4.

  1. Jodi Racicot says:

    hi there,
I am a teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary in Lasalle. Would I qualify to get a donated chess board set donated to ny classroom, so that my class is able to play during indoor recesses? They are not able to use electronics during that time, so they can't play on their computers.

    1. Cindy Ren says:

Sure. I will put your request on the list.
